This is a
resin moulding in 4mm scale from a pattern by Tom Mallard for the body
of a Stephenson Clarke private owner wagon with 6-plank sides. It has
side, end and floor doors although the latter can be modified to cater
for wagons without bottom doors. There is superb rivet detail and scale
thickness strapping.
These wagons were unusual in that they
were built to a Stephenson and Clarke design with enlarged corner
plates, internal diagonal strapping, forming a cross with the external
strapping, and were fitted with RCH standard ‘V’ hangers. 500 were built
in 1899.
