This is a resin moulding in 4mm scale from a pattern by Tom Mallard for the body of a Stephenson Clarke private owner wagon with 6-plank sides. It has side, end and floor doors although the latter can be modified to cater for wagons without bottom doors. There is superb rivet detail and scale thickness strapping.

These wagons were unusual in that they were built to a Stephenson and Clarke design with enlarged corner plates, internal diagonal strapping, forming a cross with the external strapping, and were fitted with RCH standard ‘V’ hangers. 500 were built in 1899.

The body fits into our R041 RCH 1907 etched brass underframe which produces a sprung chassis with full underframe detail.

Wheels (3ft 1½ in split-spoke), coupling chain (3-link on the prototype), axleboxes/springs and buffers of your choice and paint/transfers are needed to complete the model.
