This kit is for the diagram Great Central
Railway 40 foot 12T bogie brake van of which six vehicles were built at
Gorton in 1906. They were used on express goods, excursion and newspaper
trains and are believed to have lasted to about the end of World War 2
because there was a shortage of such vehicles.
It is a re-release of the
former R&E Models kit with re-mastered whitemetal components.
The kit is of etched brass construction and includes
bogies and whitemetal axleboxes/springs
and buffers. It can be built for 00, EM and P4 gauges.
Wheels (3ft. 7in. Mansell) and
couplings (screw on the prototype), glazing, paint and transfers are
needed to complete the kit. |
