| The basic EasiChas principle is used to produce a fully sprung EM or P4 locomotive that can be built up without soldering, except for replacing the pick-ups. It is designed for use with wheels having ⅛” diameter axles. Please ensure this is made known to your wheels supplier, as replacement wheel packs may have a different size axle. | ||

For the locomotive, the kit has fold-up frames and keeper plate with separate firebox and ashpan, and guard irons. The original plastic brake hangers can be re-used, but accurate brake rigging is provided. For those that prefer them, etched brake blocks and hangers are included. There are replacement coupling rods for those who do not wish to re-use the Bachmann originals. Additional detail in the form of weight shaft, weight shaft lever and rod is also provided, plus a pattern and material to enable the correct shape sandboxes to be fitted. For the tender, a fold-up sprung frame is included with replacement guard irons. Replacement brake blocks and hangers, together with correct double rod brake rigging is provided to enable the inaccurate brake gear that is moulded on the frame to be replaced. Additional detail in the form of the hand brake lever mechanism, vacuum tanks and framework is also provided. This has brake pull rods for the locomotive and for the tender, plus a pattern and material to enable the correct shape sandboxes to be fitted a dummy tank frame, replacement brake blocks, hangers and correct double rod brake rigging, hand brake lever mechanism, vacuum tanks and framework and replacement 00 guard irons.
